Hanagan now odds-on for Jockeys’ Championship
For the first time in almost three seasons a new name tops the ante-post betting for the Flat Jockeys Championship where Paul Hanagan is now odds-on at 10-11 with William Hill.
Richard Faheys stable jockey has transposed the long-time ante-post favourite Ryan Moore at the head of the betting who has been available as low as 1/4 with Hills since betting opened.
The defending champion now lies 3rd on the list behind Hanagan and Richard Hughes, with the former boasting a lead that continues to grow each day.
Kate Miller, spokeswoman for William Hill, said: No-one could have predicted the standings at this stage, with Paul Hanagan unthought-of at 33-1 in December. To say he is riding out of his skin is an understatement and hes now the first jockey to knock Ryan Moore off the top spot for almost three years. It is also not inconceivable that the current champion finishes outside the placings, with hefty competition in the form of Richard Hughes.
2010 British Jockeys Championship: 10-11 Paul Hanagan, 11-10 Ryan Moore, 9-1 Richard Hughes, 33-1 Frankie Dettori, 50-1 Kieren Fallon
